In 2005 Fiona founded the South African chapter of the international organization Women in Film and Television (WIFT SA). WIFT SA was successfully launched in November 2005 at Sithengi Film Festival and received much media attention. WIFT SA continues from strength to strength.

Farzaneh Behroozi

Farzaneh BehrooziFarzaneh Behroozi worked in medical research, public health and for The New York Times Online, before relocating to Africa to document case studies of innovators in public health for her MPH thesis.

“HIV/AIDs in Africa is a part of daily life, much like the sun which follows us through our days. While traveling through Southern Africa filming innovative public health projects, I heard about mothers2mothers.”

“I was amazed by the strength of the mentor mothers, who each day put aside their own personal challenges to help guide women through the initial heartbreak and daily struggles of living with HIV to accepting their HIV status and ensuring their babies are born HIV negative by successfully completing PMTCT.  Although living with HIV is not easy, women who complete PMTCT have a real sense of joy and power, as one said to me:  ‘I have saved my baby, I can do anything now.’ ”
